1st XI promoted following nervy final day win
Two goals inside three second half minutes from James Breeden were enough to earn the OHAFC 1st XI a hard-fought 2-1 win away to the Old Cholmeleians on the final day of the season, thereby ensuring they would earn promotion to the Premier Division.
Knowing only a win would be sufficient, with Cholms in the same boat, the visitors fell behind just a few minutes into the second half. But within five minutes the scoreline had been reversed thanks to a quickfire double from the club's leading scorer. The first came courtesy of a contentious penalty, Cholms punished for some grappling inside their box at a free-kick. Breeden sent the keeper the wrong way and the sides were level at 1-1.
And just a couple of minutes later another free-kick from almost an identical location produced the winner, Cholms failing to clear and the ball falling invitingly for Breeden at the far post to turn and hammer into the net.
Cholms piled on the pressure late on but, one almighty goal line scramble aside, the Blues held on comfortably enough and the final whistle signalled a return to the top division of the Arthurian League following a three-year absence.

Very well done to skipper Yunus Sert and the whole squad for their entire season!
