1st XI exit Dunn Cup at hands of powerful Lancing
The OHAFC 1st XI were dumped out of the Arthur Dunn Cup at the quarter-final stage on Saturday, losing 4-1 at home to an excellent Lancing outfit.
Although the visitors fully deserved to progress, the scoreline was harsh on the hosts who played well in the second half but had given themselves too much to do with a poor opening half an hour that saw the visitors 3-0 to the good.
Alex Gilbert pulled a goal back with a quarter of the game remaining to reduce the defecit to 4-1 but despite creating a host of other chances, the Blues could not find a way past the inspired Lancing 'keeper and their fate was sealed.
The team now have a week off to re-group before tackling the final five League games of the season knowing that anything less than three wins will see them relegated back to Division One for the first time since the 1999/2000 season.
