1st XI earn first win of season to progress in Cup

The OHAFC 1st XI earned their first win of the season on Saturday, hanging on to record a 3-2 victory over the Old Cholmeleians in the first round of the Arthur Dunn Cup.

Following three heavy League defeats the first Dunn Cup fixture of the season provided the opportunity to rekindle some of the squad's enthusiasm going forward.

An excellent first half display saw the Blues two goals to the good at the break, Alex Breeden scoring with a header and Will Orr-Ewing, in his first appearance of the season, volleying in at the near post from a corner.

The second half was a real slog however, with the visitors in the ascendency for much of it. Having pulled a goal back, Harry Hoffen's simple finish with twenty minutes remaining looked to have sealed a safe passage into round two.

But Harrow then contrived to concede two penalties in the space of two minutes. David Griffiths, remarkably, saved both diving to his left. Unfortunately the second was turned in on the rebound leaving the Blues to negotiate a tricky final ten minutes.

Thankfully they held on and will now face the winners of the Wellington versus Chigwell tie at home in round two, likely to be in early December.
