1st XI bounce back with fine display at KCS Wimbledon
The OHAFC 1st XI returned to winning ways on Saturday afternoon with an excellent performance away to Kings Wimbledon that resulted in a 3-0 win.
Despite facing a side that had beaten them in pre-season and had defeated Eton 3-0 the week earlier, Harrow enjoyed the majority of possession and created numerous chances in a solid first half display.
The Blues opened the scoring just before the half-hour when Luke de Rougemont was brought down when through on goal by the KCS goalkeeper following a Lederman through ball. Lederman himself stepped up to calmly convert the spot-kick.
Despite perhaps playing with slightly less fluidity in the second half, the visitors wrapped up the points thanks to two excellent goals from Johan Harder: his first, a powerful volley into the far corner following a flick on from de Rougemont, his second a cool near post finish following good work by Piers Bourke on the left.
Harrow's back four looked sound throughout the afternoon with goalkeeper David Griffiths having little of note to do - centre halves Milln and Orr-Ewing in particular turned in powerful performances.
The win leaves Harrow with twelve points out of a possible eighteen. Hardly title-winning form, but given the traditionally slow starts the side makes, a useful tally of points with which to attack the end of the year.
Ed Poulter's team next face Cholms at home on Saturday and will have to do so without the suspended Milln.
