1st XI aim to avoid repeat of history on Saturday
In a remarkable coincidence, Saturday will see the OHAFC 1st XI trying to avoid defeat against the Old Salopians in an almost identical run of games and results prior to the Christmas break from the one they encountered a year ago.
The strangely similar sequence of games began on matchday five when, as was the case last season, Harrow played host to Eton. And, as was the case a year ago, the two teams fought out a draw: 2-2 last season, 0-0 this season.
The following game for the OHAFC was again the same in both seasons with remarkably similar results: a 6-1 home win over Brentwood in 2013, a 5-1 home win over Brentwood in 2014.
The Blues were then asked in both seasons to travel to the side who were promoted in second from Division One the previous campaign: Malvern in 2013, Tonbridge in 2014. Both games produced 1-0 defeats for Harrow.
Now, as in 2013, the next test for the OHAFC is a visit from the Old Salopians. But this will be where the hosts will definitely not be wanting history to repeat itself: last year they were humbled 5-1 on the Hill in what was their poorest display of the season.
If ever there was motivation for the side to turn up and put in a performance...
