The last time the Harrow 3s played the Old Amplefordians it was the second game of the season and the OHs lost 7-1. This time however things were much different.
Harrow dominated the first half with their clean style of football, making lots of passes and using the full width of the pitch. The home side clearly had the majority of possession and with this came plenty of opportunities but no goals. Ampleforth who had far fewer shots than OHAFC however did capitalise on their opportunities and were 2-0 up by half time.
Harrow didn’t have as good a second half. Frustrated at the situation the team started panicking and this lead to a loss of composure. The style of play changed and Harrow were repeatedly playing the long ball which consistently lead to a loss of possession and tired the players. In retrospect the team should have stuck to their passing game, as long as opportunities are being created the goals will come.
The score line stayed at 2-0, but having dominated the game against the league leaders for long periods confidence in the team remains high.
